The Plate Project is both a creative and ethical Clementine Porcelain collaboration.
Functional porcelain plates are cast and bisque fired by us and then decorated by children. The children are given no restrictions so their imaginations can run wild.
Once decorated, the plates are given a clear-coat of glaze and fired again - rendering a functional piece of pottery. After the final firing the decorated plates are offered to the public for purchase.
The idea is to create a context in which kids can make a real contribution to alleviating child hunger in their very own community.
100% of the net profits generated through this line are donated to The Backpack Program administered by the Food Bank for the Heartland.
